Civil Air Support Sample Images of Flooding in Scotland

Civil Air Support crews were active across Scotland yesterday, monitoring the impact of extensive flooding following extreme weather over the weekend. Our response featured up to seven aircraft operating simultaneously over the Highlands, Tayside, Fife and Forth Valley areas and the collection of hundreds of images and videos of the on-going incident.

Civil Air Support’s Chairman, Archie Liggat said:

“Our co-ordinated operation today featured multiple aircraft from across Scotland and once again highlighted CAS’s ability to provide a robust and effective airborne response. Our crews were able to mobilise quickly and cover large parts of the country, highlighting the organisation’s ability to rapidly augment existing assets for the benefit of our communities in time of need at no cost to the public purse. We would encourage organisations who want to know more about CAS, especially those who don’t currently have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with us, to make contact to ensure that we are able to support them effectively in future”.

Attached are a very small selection of the photographs currently being collated that will be made available to public agencies for flood monitoring/emergency planning purposes on request. We are happy for these images to be used by the press on the condition that they are credited to Civil Air Support to aid marketing of the charity and brand recognition. We are also happy to provide more specific geographical/topic related images by request where available.
