Please note that, upon joining the Voluntary Sector, you must honour your pledge to volunteer.  CAS exists to offer wide support to members who have a strong ambition to assist communities and the environment through the use of aircraft, thereby making members’ own voluntary efforts much more effective.  As a pilot or observer you will be expected to fully engage with CAS and other agencies to originate most of the missions you fly. You will also be expected to rapidly assimilate learning material and train for the required airborne skills on your own initiative.

Notification of interest in joining Civil Air Support

*Please note that Civil Air Support pilots are expected to provide and fly their own aircraft, typically at their own

expense.

We receive a significant number of applications from pilots who are training or building hours and are interested

in flying with Civil Air Support as a way of gaining experience while doing something useful. However, this is not

how our charity operates. Our flying is undertaken by pilots who are already suitably qualified and who

are able to provide their own aircraft and meet the associated costs.
